Trained as an architect, I have over 20 years experience as a freelance architectural illustrator in the UK and abroad. All my perspectives are hand-rendered, mostly in the style of ink and water colour, as artist's impressions on buildings. Based on architects' drawings, building visualisations or CAD files, a rough draft is submitted for approval prior to production of the final overlay sheet. In all cases the geometry is absolutely correct as this is of upmost Importance as an architectural illustrator on designs; the hand-drawn artist's impressions product being as factual as its digital equivalent. The advantage of having artist's impressions of building visualisations is for presentational artwork for UK and foreign Investors.

| CAD Images |
As an architectural illustrator based in the UK, all CAD work is developed, either with set-up models, again based on architects' drawing files, building visualisations, or from 3D models supplied by the client. Fixed perspective CGI Illustrations, viewpoints or walkthroughs are generated as required, with any photo-editing as appropriate. As an architectural illustrator, advice on building perspectives and ideal presentational artwork for UK and foreign investors can be discussed. Alternatively, all perspective CGI architectural illustrations can be taken to draft stage only, either as wireframe or part-rendered, for use by architects and designers as a useful building visualisations tool.

| Photomontage |
Photomontages are composite images, each consisting of a dedicated CADimage dropped into a photograph of the site, complete with any existing foreground and background features. This is all done by myself as an architectural illustrator in the UK. Photomontages are particularly suitable for gap-sites and aerial views, in perspective illustrations or as presentational artwork of the UK. A typical exercise, as an architectural Illustrator, is to let the council planners view a particular urban development from a selection of perspective view points within the surrounding area. It is my role as an architectural illustrator to show developers and council planners ideal building visualisations for presentational artwork for investors.

This section contains a mixture of brochure images and drawings based on photographic information. My architectural illustrator commissions include guide book illustrations, artist's impressions, book covers, cards, and other presentational artwork for UK and oversea businesses.
